Performance Equine Vets is a boutique family owned business which aims to provide the highest level of equine care right to your stable door.
Owned and operated by Dr Ellie Grieves who started the business with the aim to offer clients more options to veterinary care from their high performing athlete or their much loved paddock companion.
Our Services
We offer 2 options for prepurchase examinations.
Stage 1-2: Includes a full examination of your horse, lameness assessment including flexion tests.
Stage 1-5: Includes a full examination of your horse, lameness exam including flexion tests and a ridden component to assess any lameness when ridden and look at recovery after work
*Options to add radiographs, ultrasound, endoscope and blood testing
A detailed history is taken to understand your concerns. After this a full examination of all limbs, back and feet. A trot up, lounge and flexion tests are carried out to further asses which limb/s are affected. After this a plan will be made which may include nerve blocks to further isolate the painful area, imaging (radiographs/ultrasound) are taken. Treatments can then be undertaken depending on what is found
We offer emergency services within an hour of kyabram. We are well equipped to provide treatment for colic, choke, wounds, acute lameness, diarrhoea, eye injuries, emergency euthanasia and many more
